Southern Heart Group is a highly distinguished team of cardiovascular specialists who have been caring for the Jacksonville area for over 30 years. With multiple national accreditations and cardiologists recognized among “America’s Top Physicians“, we provide the very best quality of care for the full spectrum of cardiovascular conditions.
Originally founded in 1978 and based at Baptist Medical Center in downtown Jacksonville, the practice quickly earned a reputation for providing superior medical care while treating patients with kindness and compassion. This reputation for excellence led to significant growth and additional locations were soon opened at Memorial Hospital of Jacksonville, Orange Park Medical Center, Baptist Medical Center South and Baptist Medical Center Nassau County. In 2003, Cardiology Consultants of Jacksonville and Orange Park officially became Southern Heart Group, P.A.
Today, Southern Heart Group is recognized as “Northeast Florida’s Best for Cardiology Care” and we are proud of our leadership role in the community. With 12 cardiologists and 5 full-service locations, our multi-disciplined team provides comprehensive expertise in the areas of preventive, non-invasive, and interventional cardiology as well as electrophysiology and peripheral vascular services. At Southern Heart Group, all physicians are board certified and have achieved a Health Grades Recognized or Five Star Rating. For a combined total of more than 35 years, Southern Heart Group physicians have been elected to serve as Chief of Cardiology at Baptist Medical Center, Memorial Hospital of Jacksonville, and Orange Park Medical Center.
Each Southern Heart Group location is equipped with a nationally accredited nuclear laboratory and the ability to perform stress tests, echocardiography, Holter monitors, event monitors, carotid dopplers, and the management of anticoagulation therapy for Coumadin patients. In addition, our Baptist South and Orange Park locations feature a nationally accredited vascular laboratory where we provide non-invasive diagnostic testing of the arteries and veins of the upper and lower extremities, abdomen, and neck.
At Southern Heart Group, our physicians are supported by a full-time executive administration staff, multiple physician assistants and nurse practitioners, specially trained diagnostic technologists, medical assistants, and dozens of office support personnel. Our gifted physicians and dedicated staff combine to create an exceptional team that strives to provide exemplary service and superior patient care.
We know that one of our greatest assets is the relationship that we share with our patients, colleagues, and referring physicians.
